The Weekend Has Not Yet Been Invited To Perform In The 2021 Grammys
2021 Grammys were postponed from 31 January 2021 to 14 March 2021, and Harvey Mason Jr., interim Grammy leader, gave an interview on the move. The Weekend has not been invited to perform in The 2021 Grammys
The move was made due to growing cases of coronavirus in the United States and, specifically, in the Los Angeles area.
“It just didn’t feel like the right move to do it on January 31st, with the numbers and what was happening in L.A.,” he told Variety.
The Weeknd, who had one of the biggest albums of the year with Flashing Lights, has been left out of the awards if you don’t recall. At that point, The Weeknd called the Grammys corrupt.
He also said that the Grammys had been preparing a performance at the time of the snub for weeks.
Now, Harvey was asked if, after all this uproar, The Weeknd will now be more interested in the show now. He responded, “Not that I know.”
